115 fantastic stories about the future of medicine were written by VSMU students

The submission period for the 1st International Literary Science Fiction Contest “Medicine in 90 Years” has concluded. VSMU students submitted a total of 115 stories in Russian and English for the contest.
The contest entries were written in various fantastic genres: science fiction, social fiction, dystopia, fantastic drama, action fantasy, post-apocalypse, fantasy, mysticism, and horror. Works such as “The Fate of a Doctor: A Story of Pain, Love, and Saving Children” by Maria Sergovantseva, “The Threshold of Empathy” by Daria Melishnikova and Valeria Koreeva, “Pulse of the Future: A Journey Ninety Years Forward” by Daniil Orlov, and others reflect diverse perspectives on the future of medicine. Among the submissions were also two scripts, one of which, This Story Talks About Bhodi Dharman, was written in English by VSMU international student Brownis Fernando Aaron Jeremy Fernando.
All stories were evaluated by the contest organizing committee based on criteria such as stylistic consistency, plot originality, thematic development, logical plot structure, compositional integrity, mastery of literary techniques, and proficiency in Russian or English. Additionally, the entries underwent automated originality checks. Now, 18 stories selected by the organizing committee will advance to the next stage of the contest.
The contest organizing committee thanks all participants for their fascinating, unique, and vivid stories about the medicine that awaits us and our descendants in 90 years, in 2115.
